High CRI:
Color Rendering Index (CRI) is a measure that indicates how colors will be accurately represented under an artificial light source compared with color reproduction in natural daylight. It is measured on a scale from 0 to 100.
CRI (unit: Ra) number is calculated only by taking average of R1-R8 values and it does not include special colors R9-R15 values. However, it is necessary to increase the average of R9-R15 to have better color rendering properties of an artificial light source.
It is particularly more critical to raise the values of R9, R12, R13 but it is not easy to increase them. The “red” test color R9 plays a significant role in medical lighting, because it must distinguish the various shades of red with tissues and blood. The “blue” test color R12 is very important in the area of art gallery or museum lighting where blue hues are prevalent and the “skin color” R13 must be high in the area of skin treatment and cosmetics.

XENOLED®
Despite high Ra value, R9, R12, R13 test color index is typically very low in blue-chip LED lights, especially at cool white. With a complete control of phosphors, our XENOLED® Series have R9, R12, R13 values above 90, even at cooler white.
XENOLED®
A main purpose for XENOLED® II Series is to make the spectrum similar to that of halogen lamps, which have CRI values of up to 99. At a color temperature of 2,200K, our XENOLED® II Series present almost the same color distributional curve with the halogen’s, but without IR rays most of which emit as heats.
